Man accused of stealing petroleum
Authorities arrested a Smithfield-area man on Thursday for stealing $400 of petroleum products from his job.Charles Christopher Braswell, 36, of 520 Red House Road, was charged with larceny by an employee, according to a report. Deputies from the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested Braswell for stealing from Earth Works in Smithfield.Braswell was jailed under a $10,000 bond.
Tool theft under investigation
Johnston County sheriff's deputies are investigating the theft of tools worth more than $2,000 from a home near Garner.Someone stole a pressure washer, a pressure-washer wand, a chainsaw and a backpack blower from 865 Black Angus Dr., according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office.
Four-wheeler stolen
Deputies are investigating the theft of a four-wheeler from a home near Selma.A four-wheeler worth $1,000 was stolen from 3543 N.C. 96, according to an investigation report. The vehicle was last known secure on Wednesday, the report says.
Party supplies stolen
Party supplies were stolen from Dollar Tree Thursday, Smithfield police reported. The supplies were taken from the North Bright Leaf store. They were valued at $100.
