Teens suspected of stealing truck
Authorities arrested two Smithfield teens early Wednesday morning for stealing a truck the day before, according to a report.

Michael Damieon Matheny, 18, of 113 Will Road was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and fleeing and eluding arrest with a motor vehicle. He was jailed under a $80,000 bond.

Joshua Alan Johnson, 18, of 224 County Home Road was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. He was jailed under a $60,000 bond.

On Tuesday, a Yelverton Grove Road resident told Johnston County Sheriff's Office that his Ford F-150 truck was stolen near his home.

The truck was worth $5,000, according to the investigation report.

Two men jailed for drugs
Authorities arrested a Kenly man and a Smithfield man Wednesday on drug charges.

Antwon Deon Speights, 26, of 55 Holland Drive near Smithfield was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was jailed under a $51,000 bond, according to a Johnston County Sheriff's Office report.

Raymond Speights Jr., 32, of P.O. Box 392, Kenly, was charged with felony possession of cocaine. His bond was set at $10,000.

Investigators seized a .380-caliber handgun and $557 in the case, according to the report.

Woman charged in illegal purchase
A Goldsboro woman was arrested Tuesday for buying more than the legal amount of pseudoephedrine in Johnston County.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office charged Stacy Marie Grady, 22, with exceeding the pseudeoephedrine purchase limit, according to a report. Pseudoephedrine can be used to make methamphetamine.

Three women arrested for drugs
Smithfield police arrested three Clayton women in two separate drug-related incidents Tuesday, according to reports. Two women were charged with cocaine possession and drug paraphernalia possession, and a third was also charged with possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine.

Denise Selee Green, 43, of 2008 Scott St. was taken into custody at 6:52 p.m. at 509 N. Bright Leaf Blvd. At the time of her arrest, Green was carrying .01 grams of crack cocaine, police reported.

At 10:29 p.m., Smithfield police arrested Jeanne Carol Hagwood, 34, of 14765-A Buffalo Road at Fuller and Smith streets. At the time of her arrest, she was carrying .03 grams of crack cocaine. With her was Annette Marie Cox, 43, of 15270 Buffalo Road, who was also trying to sell .5 grams of crack, according to the reports.

Green and Hagwood were arrested under $11,000 bonds, while Cox’s bond was set at $41,000.

Warrant served on drug suspect
Smithfield police on Tuesday served a warrant on a local man wanted for possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and selling cocaine. Anthony Henry Brown, 23, of 321 Dogwood St. was arrested at 12:15 p.m. at the Smithfield Police Station, according to a report. The warrants had been filed against him March 3. He was taken to the Johnston Jail and placed under a $25,000 bond.

Selma man charged in fraud
A Selma man wanted for obtaining property by false pretenses under a warrant was arrested at the Johnston Jail on Tuesday.

Emanuel Ezekiel Price, 21, of 904 S. Raiford St. was charged with the felony offense, according to a report. His bond was set at $20,000.

Police investigate break-in
Smithfield police are looking into a break-in and burglary Tuesday night at 804 West St., according to a report.

The resident reported that sometime between 10:40 and 10:45 p.m., someone broke in and took a DVD player, a Sony Playstation 2, an X-Box and a pair of jeans, all valued at $450. The Playstation 2 was recovered.

Jackets stolen from store
Smithfield police are investigating a report that someone robbed the Ecko store at Carolina Premium Outlets of 12 green jackets, according to a report. The total value of the jackets was $540.

An employee reported that the jackets were taken between 8:15 and 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.
