Thefts reported at Selma nightclub
Police in Selma are searching for suspects in two thefts last weekend from cars parked in Club Element’s parking lot on South Pollock Street.

A Smithfield woman told officer Robert Markell she parked her SUV at the rear of the club’s parking lot about 9:30 p.m. When she returned to her car about three hours later, she found a passenger window shattered and a GPS system and satellite radio missing.

The items were worth a combined $500, according to a report. Damage to her car was estimated at $200.

Less than nine hours later, Markell learned of a second incident at Club Element from a Smithfield man who said his motorcycle had been stolen. The man said he parked his Harley at the club about 10 p.m. Saturday. He left his motorcycle parked at the club when he left with friends about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

When he returned for his motorcycle about 9 a.m., it had been stolen. He told Markell the motorcycle was worth $14,000.
