Man charged in four-wheeler case
A Clayton-area man was charged Monday with having a four-wheeler that had been reported stolen.

Michael Shane Moore, 29, of 100 Plantation Road faces one count of possessing stolen goods or property. The Honda four-wheeler was worth $1,500, according to an investigation report from the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Moore was jailed under a $20,000 bond.

Woman robbed on Guy Road
A Wendell woman told authorities on Monday that she was the victim of an armed robbery.

Shelia Earp Boykin, 40, told investigators with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office that someone had stolen $100 from her on Guy Road, according to a report. The perpetrator threatened Boykin and forced her to hand over the cash, the report says.

Bank cards stolen
Smithfield police are investigating two local women’s reports that their financial cards were stolen and used fraudulently.

Portia E. Williams, 46, of 12 Bradford St. reported April 10 that her credit cards were taken and used fraudulently sometime between noon April 1 and 9 a.m. April 3.

Another Bradford Street resident, Jean Cone Stone, 69, of 37 Bradford St., reported that her purse, which included bank cards, credit cards and $80 cash, was stolen Monday at 1299 N. Bright Leaf Blvd. She told the police her cards were used fraudulently, according to a report.

Robber hits convenience store
The Kangaroo store at 1331 N. Bright Leaf Blvd. in Smithfield was robbed just after midnight Tuesday, according to Smithfield police reports. Cash was stolen, but it was not an armed incident. Police are investigating.

Woman reports identity theft
Clayton police are investigating a case of identity theft. Leah Walker-Hernandez, 34, of Wyndfall Lane, reported that her personal information was used to purchase services from Direct TV. On Monday, she said $159 was charged to her account, according to a report.
