Business reports theft
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a larceny from a Smithfield business on Saturday.

Moore’s Storage Buildings reported that an air-conditioning unit had been stolen from the U.S. 70 East business. Damage to a window was estimated at $100. The air-conditioner was valued at $150.

Man suspected of attempted larceny
A Four Oaks man is suspected of trying to steal a car radiator on Friday, the Johnston County Sheriff's Office reported.

Norman Curtis Parker, 44, of 210 Hummingbird Road, was arrested and charged with felonious possession a stolen goods. He was placed under a $20,000 bond, according to a report.

Detective Chris Strickland said a deputy responded to a complaint of possible drug activity at a home on Parkertown Road. When the deputy arrived at the scene, he saw Parker using a crowbar to try to dismantle a car radiator on a 2001 Hyundai, Strickland said.

Three charged with drug crimes
Three people were arrested after drugs and stolen goods were found in a Smithfield home on Saturday, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Wilbert Ross Hardy, 53, of 268-D Freedom Road, Smithfield, and Sheila Hodges Hardy, 50, of 4655 Cleveland Road, Smithfield, were each charged with one count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver a scheduled VI controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a place for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were placed under $1,000 bonds, according to a report.

Sherrill McNeill, 42, of 151 Dickerson Road, Smithfield, was charged with one count of possession of a stolen firearm.

According to the report, sheriff’s deputies from the Narcotics Division went to Hardy’s home on Saturday. They seized three grams of crack-cocaine, 28 grams of marijuana and a shotgun, the report stated.
