Woman accused of assault
A Benson woman was arrested on Thursday for cutting someone with a razor, Benson police reported.Alika Tara Schuler, 24, of 521 E. Benton St., was charged with one count each of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting a public officer. Her bond as set at $1,000, according to a report.Officers responded to a brawl on South Whittington Street Thursday night. Another Benson woman said Shuler cut her on the thumb and forearm with a razor blade. When police approached Schuler, she ran off with a box cutter in hand. Shuler surrendered to police after an office threatened to use a taser on her.
Benson police investigate burglary
Benson police are investigating a burglary at a local home, according to a report.An Adams Drive resident told police her home was forcibly entered Monday. A television as well as a DVD player and 60 movies were stolen from the home. The items were valued at $1,050.
Two arrested for burglary
Smithfield police have made two more arrests related to a break-in at a Rand Street home Monday morning.At 12:30 p.m. Thursday, police arrested Anthony Douglas Clark Jr., 16, of 2010 S. Bright Leaf Blvd. at home, according to a report. He was charged with breaking and entering and larceny under warrants issued on Tuesday.He was taken to the Johnston County Jail and placed under a $10,000 bond.Thursday afternoon, Rakheim Devon Prather, 17, of 808 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Smithfield was arrested for possession of stolen property under a warrant issued Tuesday. He was arrested at 4:15 at the Smithfield Police Station.He was taken to the Johnston County Jail and placed under a $10,000 bond.
East Church Street home broken into
Smithfield police are investigating a break-in and burglary that took place Thursday afternoon at an East Church Street home.The resident told police an acquaintance broke into his home sometime between 3:15 and 3:35 p.m. The resident said the burglar broke the lock on the front door to enter the home, and took a computer, an X-Box, X-Box and Playstion games and a gym bag. The items were worth $1,245.
Thief nabs car from dealer's lot
An employee at Deacon Jones Auto Park at 115 N. Bright Leaf Blvd. in Smithfield told police Thursday morning that a Nissan Altima had been stolen from the dealership. The car is worth $16,000, according to a report.The employee said the vehicle was taken sometime between April 15 and May 14 from the parking lot.
Smithfield police are investigating.
Woman arrested for fighting
Clayton police responded to a fight between two women Thursday, according to a report.Jasmine Marie Rocker, 21, of 549 S. Moore St., Clayton, was charged with one count of assault and battery. Rocker and another woman were pushing and throwing objects at each other inside Rocker’s home, police reported.
