Selma woman reports theft
Police in Selma are investigating the possible theft of personal property from a woman’s home on Hunting Drive.According to reports, the victim told officers she returned to her mobile home Tuesday and found numerous items, including furniture, appliances and clothing, missing from inside. Officers said the woman hadn’t been in her home since late March, when she temporarily moved out after her power was shut off.The woman told police the owner of the mobile home park told her there had been numerous break-ins in the neighborhood. But she said she thought her landlord had removed the items because there were no signs that anyone had broken into her home.Police estimated the cost of the missing items at more than $3,000. No arrests have been made in the case.
Woman's jewelry stolen
A Clayton woman reported jewelry worth $3,000 was stolen from her home Wednesday. According to a Clayton police report, the jewelry was taken from a Boswell Lane home. The report indicated that the property was not broken into.
Accused drunken driver runs off road
A Selma woman was taken to Johnston Memorial Hospital Monday evening after she ran off Rains Mill Road near Princeton and flipped her car. She was later charged with DWI.According to a Highway Patrol report, Michelle Nicoleau, 39, of 507 South Smithfield St., Selma, was traveling north on Lizzie Mill Road in her Toyota SUV at 5:08 p.m. when she ran off the road to the right. Her vehicle struck a culvert, a driveway, several bushes, a phone pole, two wells and a fence before overturning and coming to rest upside down in a yard on Rains Mill Road. She was driving at 65 mph, according to the report.Nicoleau was charged with DWI and reckless driving.
Man arrested for breaking into club
A Smithfield man is in the Johnston County Jail under a $25,000 bond following an arrest for one count of breaking and entering and two counts of breaking a coin or currency machine.Jonathan Glenn Henry, 30, of 812 Third Ave. was taken into custody at 2:44 a.m. Thursday at the scene of the crime, Mambo Club at 503 Brogden Road, according to a report.An employee of a security company notified Smithfield police that two pool tables and a glass door were damaged during the break-in, and four Bud Lights were stolen. The beer bottles were recovered.
Man's truck stolen
Smithfield police are looking for a local man’s truck that was reported stolen Wednesday morning.
The Barbour Road resident said the 1998 Dodge Ram was taken from a parking lot at 197 Mallard Road sometime between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.
