The annual Red & White Banquet is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Avery Grove AME Zion Church on Freedom Road, Smithfield. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 8-12.

Plates of fried chicken will be on sale from 4 till 6 p.m. Saturday at the Smithfield Church of God, 1070 W. Market St., Smithfield. The cost is $6 a plate, with proceeds benefiting the church's seniors.

Salvation Deliverance Temple will celebrate its 18th anniversary this weekend. Services are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday. The following will speak: Minister Deloris Adams, today; Pastor Tyrus Hinton, Saturday; and Pastor Isaiah Croon Jr., Sunday. The church is at 420 E. Market St. in downtown Smithfield.
