Selma welcomes bridal shop

A one-stop bridal shop has arrived in downtown Selma.

Shae Sheppard has opened The French Bustle Bridal Shoppe, which carries gowns and accessories for weddings, proms and other special occasions. Also inside the store is La Bouffant, a full-service hair salon, and It Speaks to Me Fine Art Photography, photography for engagement, bridal, wedding and formal events.

Sheppard decided to open the business to help brides on a budget. “And to show brides that they can look like a million bucks without having to spend it,” she said. “There are ways of having a wedding day without going in major debt, and we want to help our brides achieve this.”

The French Bustle Bridal Shoppe is at 101 S. Raiford St. Hours are 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, call 202-4500 or go to www.thefrenchbustle.com.

Deli, pizza in Clayton

Long Island Express Deli & Pizza has opened in Clayton.

The eatery offers breakfast sandwiches and platters, bagels and calzones stuffed with eggs, meat and cheese. Patrons can also dine on pizza, sandwiches stuffed with Boar’s Head meats, hamburgers, hot dogs and strombolis. The sandwich rolls and heroes are made fresh daily. Desserts include cookies, brownies, cannolis and cakes.

Long Island Express Deli & Pizza is at 10368 U.S. 70 Business West. It is open from 5:30 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The telephone number is 550-6800.

Dance in Clayton

Main Stage of Clayton, a dance and performance studio, is opening this week.

Melody Norris is the owner. “We are excited to get started and bring some extra life to downtown,” she said a news release.

Students can learn ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, cheerleading, modeling, acting and pageant grooming. Also available are specialty classes, such as “Toddler’s Tutus, Taps and Tumble” and “Mommy and Me Hip-Hop Workout.” In addition to the dance studio, Center Stage has a boutique with clothing, shoes and pageant dresses.
