Clayton welcomes Italian eatery

An Italian restaurant has opened in Clayton.

Italian Joe’s serves up chicken wings coated in honey mustard, peppercorn brandy, red Thai and barbecue sauces. Also, the eatery makes miniature and full-sized pizzas, calzones, strombolis, hoagies, cheesy bread sticks and garlic knots.

Desserts include cheesecake, chocolate cake and cinnamon sugar sticks.

Italian Joe’s is on N.C. 42 West beside the BP gas station. Hours are 11 a.m. till 10 p.m. Sundays, 10:30 a.m. till 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. till 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The telephone number is 550-7465.

Clothes in Cleveland

A new clothing store has opened in the Cleveland community.

Nicole Key has opened Nicole’s Closet, an upscale consignment shop that sells name-brand clothing, purses, shoes and belts for teenage girls. The store carries a number of brands, including Hollister, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch and PacSun.

“We only buy clothing that has been in stores in the past two years,” Key said. “We purchase things directly from people. It is quality, name-brand clothing at affordable rates.”

Nicole’s Closet is at 74 Son-Lan Parkway in The Shoppes at River Oaks. Hours are 3 till 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. Saturdays. The telephone number is 662-4696.

The Wrap Source

On Jan. 1, ProMotion Media Inc., a fleet-graphics company based in Smithfield, will change its name to The Wrap Source. In a news release, the company said the new name would better define the business niches in which the company operates.

Founded in 2003, the company has done fleet graphics for such clients as Cintas Corp., Sears, Colortyme and Goodwill.

In addition to vehicle wraps, the company also does promotional applications for building storefronts, exterior concrete, asphalt surfaces and interior spaces.

Bank opens

Capital Bank has opened at 12701 U.S. 70 Business West in Clayton. Among the bank’s five staff members are branch manager Wanda Markuson and area executive Todd Warrick.

The bank has a 24-hour teller machine, two drive-through teller lanes and freshly baked cookies in the lobby.

Certified dog trainer

Angel Zebraski of Benson has earned certification through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Statewide, only 30 dog trainers hold the certification.

Also, Zebraski has been certified by the United Animal Nation as an emergency responder for disaster. The UAN cares for animals after flood, hurricanes and other disasters.

On Dec. 8, Zebraski opened Proper Pups, a doggy daycare and training center, at 5176-M N.C. 42 West in the Cleveland community. Daycare is available from 7:30 a.m. till 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exception is Wednesday, when the shop closes at 6:30 p.m. Dog-training classes are in the evening and on Saturdays. For more information, call 662-8777.
