Clothing stores come to Johnston

Two new clothing stores have opened in Johnston County.

Eric McArthur has opened Heavenly Fashions in downtown Benson. The store sells new clothing, shoes, hats and belts for men and women. Also, suits for young boys are available.

“There is not any really new clothing stores in the area,” McArthur said. “We are willing to do whatever we can to accommodate their needs so they don’t have to drive to Raleigh and Fayetteville and all these different places to get their needs met.”

Heavenly Fashions is at 121 S. Market St. Hours are 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 9 a.m. till 4 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call 894-8944 or e-mail ericmcarthur8@yahoo.com.

In the Cleveland community, Li’l Joey’s has opened.

Danielle Reynolds is manager of the store, which sells gently used clothing. “We carry all clothing in all brands from sizes preemie to 16 in preteen,” she said. “Clothing that my children have outgrown is in the store, along with stuff that has been donated and then clothes that we have purchased from customers.”

The store accepts clothing in good condition. “For the items that we want, we make the customer an offer,” Reynolds said. “They can either take it or refuse it. If they want the offer, they can either get a check or store credit.”

Reynolds named the store after her late son Joseph, who died at 4 months old. “He would be 5-years-old today,” she said. “The store is a way for me to remember him and to carry on his memory.”

Li’l Joey’s is at 5572 N.C. 42 West. It is open from noon till 5 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon till 7 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. Saturdays. For more details, call 819-6416 or write to liljoeys@earthlink.net. Appointments should be made to drop off clothing.
