A Pine Level native has opened an upscale boutique in Smithfield.

Jan Godwin Leveridge is the owner of Southern Bella Boutique, which she opened originally with children’s clothing, accessories and furniture. Clothing brands include Luna Luna, Lucy Sykes, Cash Cash, Flirt Couture and Baby Biscotti.

Since opening, Leveridge has expanded her merchandise to include gourmet food, candles, home décor, purses and lotions. Also, Godwin Leveridge makes gift boxes for all occasions.

“I used to sell vintage clothing on eBay, but I always wanted to have my own shop,” Leveridge said. “I try to get some hip, fashionable items, and then I have a lot of traditional items too.”

Downtown Clayton has a new nail salon.

Clayton Nail Salon offers pedicures, manicures and acrylic nails. Services are available for parties, including children’s birthdays.
