Batting cages come to Clayton

Baseball players in Clayton now have an indoor place to hone their skills.

Scott and Jody Hasier have opened Clayton Baseball Academy, a baseball-training center in downtown Clayton. The 3,000-square-foot building has three 55-foot batting cage tunnels, pitching machines and pitcher’s mounds.

“We are not in a fancy building,” Jody said. “We are in a warehouse. It is exactly where a batting cage needs to be.”

The training center offers private and team baseball lessons and baseball clinics for children of all ages. Camps at local baseball fields will be available this summer. More programs for girls who want to play softball will begin soon.

Monthly and yearly memberships that offer additional savings are available. Also, the center can be rented for $75 an hour for entire teams to use.

Clayton Baseball Academy is at 320 W. Main St. It is open from 3 till 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. till 7 p.m. Saturdays. Appointments are preferred. To get more details, 550-4748.
