The Southern League announced its postseason honors Thursday morning and the dirtfish did really well.

First baseman Gaby Sanchez was named the league's MVP. Sanchez was hitting .320 entering Thursday's games with a franchise-record 41 doubles, 81 RBIs and a .413 on-base percentage (second in the Southern League). He's hitting .341 with a .659 slugging percentage since the All-Star break.

Sanchez also joins teammates John Raynor, a Benson native, and Chris Coghlan on the league's post-season All-Star team.

Raynor, an outfielder making the jump from Low-A to Double-A, is hitting .313 and leads the Southern League with 47 stolen bases. Coghlan, the Mudcats' second baseman, is hitting .298 with 32 steals. Carolina's three All-Stars were second only to Huntsville, which placed four players - catcher Angel Salmone, third baseman Mat Gamel, shortstop Alcides Escobar and outfielder Michael Brantely - on the squad.
