Yard sale, bake sale

Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church will hold a yard sale and bake sale from 6 a.m. till noon Saturday, April 11, at the fellowship center on Wood-Lee Road near Blackman’s Crossroads. The yard sale will feature toys, furniture, household items and clothing for men, women and children. The bake sale will offer cakes, pies, cookies and biscuits.

Yard sale at Asbury

A yard sale is scheduled from 7 a.m. till 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Asbury United Methodist Church on South Bright Leaf Boulevard in Smithfield.

Barbecued chicken

Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Selma Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church at the corner of West Elizabeth and Graves streets in Selma. The cost is $6 per plate and includes half a chicken, boiled potatoes, green beans, bread and dessert. Takeout will be available.

Breakfast at Pisgah

The first-Saturday breakfast is scheduled from 7:30 till 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at Pisgah Baptist Church, 3689 N.C. 210 west of Smithfield. Homemade Easter candies and eggs will be on sale, with proceeds going to the Johnston County Relay for Life.

Gospel sing

Southland Harmony will sing at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at Yelverton Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church on Yelverton Grove Road near Smithfield.

Easter musical

A musical titled “The Easter Song” is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 4-5, at New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 5312 Meadowbrook Road near Benson.

Sunrise at Mount Zion

An Easter sunrise service is scheduled for 6:45 a.m. Sunday, April 12, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 15772 N.C. 50 in the Cleveland community. A light breakfast will follow in the fellowship hall. The church will present its Easter cantata at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday School will be at 10. The church will hold a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 10. “All-Around Easter,” an event for children, is scheduled from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m.

Everett Chapel

Thanksgiving Baptist

Thanksgiving Baptist Church will celebrate Family Day on Sunday, April 5. Bible study will begin at 9:45 a.m. The worship service will follow at 11. First Assembly

Pisgah Joy Club On Thursday, April 2, members of the Pisgah Baptist Church Joy Club will attend the Senior Adult Rally at Parrish Memorial Church near Selma. Members will meet at Pisgah at 9 a.m. A covered-dish lunch will follow the meeting. The Joy Club will hold its regular meeting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9.

Sanders Grove

A Youth Day service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, April 5, at Sanders Grove Baptist Church on N.C. 210 west of Smithfield. Letaz Jones II will speak on “The Content of One’s Character Helps to Fulfill the Dream.”

Jones is youth minister at Strickland Grove Baptist Church in Four Oaks.

Oakey Grove Baptist

An Easter program is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Oakey Grove Baptist Church on U.S. 70 Business west of Smithfield.

Revival at Mt. Sinai

Palm Sunday procession

Greater Heights United Methodist Church will hold a Palm Sunday procession April 5. The procession, with palm branches, will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Clayton High School and end at The Clayton Center. The gospel music group Black Creek will celebrate its fifth anniversary at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Benson Grove Baptist Church, 6966 N.C. 50 North, Benson. The following will also perform: Teresa Allen, Timmy and Linda Benson, Ricky Allen and Linwood Johnson, Julia Johnson and Lauren Futrell. Admission is free.

Revival at Jubilee

Revival at Live Oak

Festival in Clayton

Hope Church will hold its first Spring Festival and Craft Fair from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Clayton Middle School, 490 Guy Road, Clayton. The festival will feature free carnival games and inflatable rides. Also, more than 40 vendors will sell food and crafts. During the festival, the church will collect nonperishable foods.
