Barbecued chicken

Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Bethel AME Church on N.C. 96 north of Selma. The cost is $7 per plate.

Dinner theater

A Christian dinner theater is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, at First Assembly of God on Booker Dairy Road in Smithfield. The cost is $7 for children ages 3-12 and $12 for people 13 and older. For reservations, call 934-5762. The deadline for reservations is April 24.

Chicken and pastry

Plates of chicken and pastry will be on sale from 5 till 7 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church, 16657 Buffalo Road, Wendell. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 eat free. A drive-through will be available.

Revival at Centenary

Revival services are scheduled for 7 p.m. April 17-18 and 11 a.m. April 19 at Centenary United Methodist Church at the corner of Market and Second streets in downtown Smithfield. The Rev. Jeff Gaskins will speak. The church will serve a hot dog supper at 6 p.m. Friday, and dessert will follow the Saturday service. A covered-dish lunch will follow the Sunday service.

Revival in Selma

Revival is under way at the Holy Church of Christ, 105 N. Raiford St., Selma. Remaining services are April 15-17. For more information, call 202-4643.

Barbecued chicken

Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Higher Heights Church of God, 556 E. Front St., Clayton. The cost is $6 per plate and includes half a chicken, boiled potatoes, green beans, roll and cake.

Revival at Shiloh

Shiloh Baptist Church will be in revival April 19-22. Dr. Brad Reynolds will speak at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday. The church will offer a children’s ministry and a nursery. Shiloh Baptist is located at 3414 N. Shiloh Road in the Cleveland community.

Choirs to reunite

A reunion of choirs is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Hickory Grove Disciples of Christ Church on Devil’s Racetrack Road near Four Oaks. The Hickory Grove Gospel Choir and Hickory Grove Sunshine Band will sing together after 18 years.

Gospel music

The Mark Trammell Trio and The Taylors will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at New Hope Presbyterian Church on N.C. 42 in the Willow Spring community. The church will collect an offering for the group.

Evangelist to speak

Evangelist Hattie Lofton of Smithfield will speak at 7:30 p.m. April 15-17 at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton.

Greater St. Bethel

A Men’s Night service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Greater St. Bethel United Holy Church, 11441 Claude Lewis Road, Middlesex. The Rev. Johnnie Kent of Shiloh Temple Church in Wendell will speak.

Chicken and pastry

Plates of chicken and pastry will be on sale from 4 till 7 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Burnell Baptist Church on Old School Road, Four Oaks. The cost is $6 per plate, with takeout available. An auction will begin at 7 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Relay for Life and to the Brotherhood.

Revival at New Hill

Revival services are scheduled for 7 p.m. April 15-17 at New Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Clayton. The Rev. Larry Reid of Raleigh will speak.

Revival in Selma

Revival services are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. April 15-17 at Holy Temple Church, 228 Montgomery Heights Road, Selma. Dr. Mack Sowell of the Power House of Prayer in Selma will speak.

Green Chapel

Ordination services for ministers Charles E. Dublin and Vanessa Holliday are scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2861 Brogden Road, Smithfield.
