Lisa Ann Freeman Arey, 48, died Friday, May 29, in Chapel Hill. Born Sept. 25, 1960, in Meckleburg County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Reid Freeman.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield. The Revs. David Beck and Richard Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends in Wesley Hall after the service.

Surviving are her son, Alexander Arey of Smithfield; and two sisters, Shirley Ott of Chesapeake, Va., and Elizabeth “Pinkie” Norris of Lincolnton.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Johnston County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1809, Smithfield, N.C. 27577.
