Dixie Watson, 97, of Revel Road, Kenly, died Monday, Sept. 14, at Smithfield Manor.
Born May 15, 1912, in Johnston County, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Lafayette and Emma Starling Ballance.
The funeral was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Minshew-Coley Funeral Home in Kenly. Burial was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the Watson family cemetery.
Surviving are two sons, Rudolph Watson of Kenly and Billy Watson of Raleigh; a daughter, Betty Lou Finch of Kenly; a brother, Burlie Ballance of Dangerfield, Texas; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
