Gladys Starling Martin, 87, of Selma died Friday, Sept. 18, at Smithfield Manor.Born Aug. 9, 1922, in Johnston County, Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late Harvey and Maude Helms Starling. She was the widow of William Douglas "Bill" Martin.The funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The Rev. Chris Watkins officiated. Burial followed in Selma Memorial Gardens.Surviving are several nieces and nephews.Condolences to the family may be made at parrishfh.com.
