Kenneth Wayne Parrish, 59, of Old Batten Road, Selma, died Friday, Sept. 25.

Born April 7, 1950, in Wilson County, Mr. Parrish was a son of the late Rudolph and Drucie Howell Parrish. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Parrish Funeral Home, 1351 S. Pollock St., Selma. The Rev. Tim Stevens officiated.

The family received friends after the service.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Earp Parrish; a daughter, Tammy Hester of Fremont; three stepsons, Bobby Joyner of Fremont, Billy Joyner of Pikeville and Rex Pilkington of Clinton; two brothers, Donald Parrish and Randy Parrish, both of Fremont; two grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Eastern North Carolina Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 220, Raleigh, N.C. 27605.
