Born June 3, 1913, in Newton Grove, Mrs. Turlington was a daughter of the late John Luther and Victoria Daughtry Westbrook. She was the widow of Harold Townsend Turlington.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Buies Creek First Baptist Church. Dr. Michael Simmons officiated. Burial followed in Buies Creek Cemetery.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary Frances "Frankie" Coleman of Wallace; three sons, Kenneth Ray Turlington of Willow Spring, David Harold Turlington of Clayton and Donald Wayne Turlington of Cary; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Charles Thomas Turlington II Endowment, in care of the Johnston Community College Foundation, P.O. Box 2350, Smithfield, N.C. 27577; or to the Building Fund at Buies Creek First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 160, Buies Creek, N.C. 27506.
