Sadie Melinda Wheeler Scott, 94, of Micro died Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Smithfield Manor.

Born July 25, 1915, in Johnston County, Mrs. Scott was a daughter of the late Millard and Sarah Watkins Wheeler. She was the widow of Russell Scott, who died in 1970. Mrs. Scott was a lifelong member of Micro Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Micro Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Al Warrick officiated. Burial followed in Micro Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are her son, Sherwood Scott of Elizabeth City; a daughter, Wanda Scott of Smithfield; a sister, Emma Ball of Olathe, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Micro Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 247, Micro, N.C. 27555; or to Home Health and Hospice Care, 723 S. 3rd St., Smithfield, N.C. 27577-9300.
