Louise Denning Britt, 101, of East Davis Street in Smithfield died Friday, Oct. 9, at her home.

Born April 8, 1908, in Sampson County, Mrs. Britt was the daughter of the late Joel and Vivian Keene Denning.

She was a retired schoolteacher and a member of Mill Creek Christian Church.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, in the cemetery at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in the Bentonville community. The Rev. Al Warrick officiated.

Surviving are her son, Bill Britt of Smithfield; a daughter, Agnes Killen of Smithfield; a sister, Peggy Dunlap of Virginia; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Johnston County Council on Aging, 1363 W. Market St., Smithfield, N.C. 27577.
