Josephine Lee Turner, 79, of Swift Creek Road, Smithfield, died Thursday, Oct. 8. Born Nov. 15, 1929, in Johnston County, Mrs. Turner was a daughter of the late Walter Lee and Louise Blackmon Jackson.

The funeral was at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at Minshew Funeral Home in Four Oaks. Burial will follow in the cemetery at Barbour's Chapel Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Jordan of Cornelius and Sharon Pate of Charlotte; a son, Dennis Godwin of Lake Royale; a sister, Jackie Parrish of Four Oaks; a brother, R.A. Jackson of Four Oaks; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
