Dennis Edward Rhodes, 54, of Little Creek Church Road, Clayton, died Thursday, Oct. 8, at the E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center.

Born Jan. 5, 1955, in Wayne County, Mr. Rhodes was a son of the late Thelma Ann Moore Rhodes. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.

The funeral was at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Minshew Funeral Home in Four Oaks. The Rev. Norman Simpson and Rodney Mitchell officiated. Burial followed in the cemetery at Bethesda Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis Rhodes of Louisiana and Jason Rhodes of Charlotte; his father, Edward Worth "Jack" Rhodes; three sisters, Ann Harper, Sue Nichols and Janice Sohn, all of Clayton; a brother, Charles Rhodes of Clayton; and a granddaughter.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Samantha's Trust Fund, in care of Charlie Rhodes, 836 Peele Road, Clayton, N.C. 27520.
