James LeRoy Johnson, 81, of Elevation Road, Four Oaks, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield. Born July 26, 1928, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late David Clarence and Mary Woodall Johnson.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Minshew Funeral Home, 5820 U.S. 301 South, Four Oaks. The Rev. James David Tart will officiate. Burial will follow in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens near Smithfield.

Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Johnson; a sister, Ruby Lee Johnson DiDio of Four Oaks; and a brother, Elvin Rayborn Johnson of Florida. The family will receive friends from 1 till 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
