Smithfield Police

Jonathan Allan Stebbins, 27, of 226 Live Oak Drive, Selma, was arrested Oct. 9 and charged with possession of cocaine.

Carl Lionel Simmons, 44, of 112 Minnie Drive, Princeton, was arrested Oct. 10 and charged with larceny by employee.

Tara Renae Reynolds, 33, of 253 Country Store Road, Selma, was arrested Oct. 10 and charged with possession of schedule II drugs.

Home break-ins were reported on Skyland Drive and West Edgerton Street.

Sheriff's Department

Bradley Marquel Kirby, 21, of 160 Brentwood Drive, Selma, was arrested Thursday and charged with obtaining property by false pretense. Kirby is suspected of cashing forged checks at a convenience store.

Kimberly Lee Hill, 42, of 625 Braswell Road, Smithfield, was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of methamphetamines.

Kooley Antoine Horne, 33, of 109 Wimbledon Court, Clayton, was arrested Thursday and charged with common-law robbery.

Horne is suspected of robbing a woman on July 23 outside FiddleSticks convenience store on N.C. 42 near Clayton.

Jamie Martin Edward Wheeler, 26, of 919 Morgan Road, Benson, Devon Lee Dunn, 22, of Lindon, and Lisa Marie Parker, 20, of 147 Rains Crossroads, Selma, were arrested last week and charged with first-degree burglary and felony conspiracy. They are suspected in a Sept. 17 burglary at a home on Crumpler Road near Kenly.

On Oct. 13, someone stole a 1971 Dodge T100 truck, valued at $12,000, from a home in the 1200 block of U.S. 701 South near Four Oaks.

Brenda Hassell, 43, of 138 Marianna Place, Garner, was arrested Oct. 14 and charged with larceny by employee.

On Oct. 12, someone stole 13 cows, valued at $1,000, from outside a home on Garrett Road near Four Oaks.

Michael Robert Batten, 44, of 5924 N.C. 39, Selma, was arrested Oct. 13 and charged with possession of methamphetamines.

Brandon Ray Johnson, 23, of 1041 Buffalo Road, Smithfield, was arrested Oct. 13 and charged with multiple counts of felony larceny and obtaining property by false pretense. Johnson is suspected of breaking into Ace Fabrications on U.S. 70 Business near Smithfield and stealing $2,000 in stainless steel.

Someone stole $500 in clothing and $100 in toys from Basic Needs Ministry on N.C. 42 in the Cleveland community, the charity reported on Oct. 10.

Lee Richmond Waddell, 35, of 1408 Firetower Road, Selma, and Gregory Alan Lammers, 46, of 402 Madison Ave., Princeton, were arrested Oct. 9 and charged with trafficking in opium or heroin.

Home break-ins were reported this past week in the following locations: Stone Creek Road near Four Oaks, the 1900 block of Woodard Road near Princeton, the 500 block of Hatcher Road near Selma, Hidden Acres Drive near Clayton, Bee Lane near Clayton, the 1100 block of Woodall Dairy Road near Benson, Grants Way near Four Oaks, the 3700 block of Cornwallis Road in the Cleveland community, Barnes Road near Middlesex, the 4400 block of U.S. 70 Business near Clayton and the 1200 block of Gor-An Farm Road near Selma.

Selma Police

Cornelius Neal Dupree, 43, of 508 S. Raiford St., Selma, was arrested Oct. 13 and charged with possession of stolen property. He is suspected of stealing a weed trimmer from Homes by Greg Johnson.

Mark Wilson Thornton, 38, of Stricklands Crossroads Road, Four Oaks, was arrested Oct. 8 and charged with obtaining property by false pretense and attempting to obtain controlled substances by false pretense.

According to a police report, someone stole four blank prescriptions from the Johnston County Mental Health Center and tried to fill forged prescriptions at Creech Drug Store.

Home break-ins were reported last week in the 800 block of West Waddell Street, the 200 block of Hunting Drive, the 300 block of East Anderson Street and the 800 block of North Sharpe Street.
