Ruth Moore Denton, 73, of 1411 N.C. 55, Coats, died Monday, Oct. 12.

Born Dec. 13, 1935, in Johnston County, Mrs. Denton was the daughter of the late John and Eva Pleasant Moore. She was a homemaker and a member of Coats Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats. The Revs. Horace Johnson, Bobby Caudle and Jerome Pope officiated. Burial followed in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.

Surviving are her husband, Don F. Denton; three daughters, Polly Byrd of Coats, Peggy Lee of Lillington and Joy Norris of Buies Creek; three sons, Gary Denton and Jonathan Denton, both of Coats, and Johnny Denton of Lillington; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
