Holiday arts, crafts

Holiday arts and crafts will be on sale from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in the lobby of the Paul A. Johnson Auditorium at Johnston Community College, 245 College Road, Smithfield. The sale will offer works by sculptors, potters, artists, quilters, jewelers, soap and candle makers, glass blowers, wood carvers and makeup artists.

Theatre of Illusion

The Clayton Center will present "The Spencers: Theatre of Illusion" at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. Kevin and Cindy Spencer were named 2009 International Magicians of the Year. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children 12 and younger. A family four-pack is available for $50. The Clayton Center is at 111 E. 2nd St. in Clayton. Music in Smithfield

Ragged Company will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Orchard House Booksellers, 117 N. 3rd St., Smithfield. Orchard House offers open mic from 6 till 8 p.m. Tuesdays and from noon till 3 p.m. Saturdays.

Museum hours

The Ava Gardner Museum in Smithfield will begin its winter hours on Nov. 1. Through Feb. 28, 2010, the museum will be open from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The museum will be closed Sundays. The museum is at 325 E. Market St. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for children. For more information, call 919-934-5830 or visit avagardner.org.

Bluegrass in Garner

The James King Band and Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Garner Historic Auditorium, 742 W. Garner Road, Garner. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. For tickets, go to garnerparks.org.

Music in Selma

Country Tonight

The next Country Tonight Music Show is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Ice House Theatre, 112 N. Webb St., Selma. Artwork on display

Artwork by West Smithfield Elementary School students is on display through November at Johnston Medical Center on North Bright Leaf Boulevard in Smithfield. Auditions in Clayton

Auditions for "Pippin," a Clayton Youth Theater production, are scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 13 and 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at The Clayton Center, 111 E. 2nd St., Clayton. Auditions are open to students in grades 7-12; however, the show will cast one boy age 5-10. Students should prepare a song; a pianist will be available, or bring a CD. Rehearsals will begin Nov. 30.
