MICRO: Eugene “Gene” Hinton, 74, is the next mayor of Micro, a Johnston County town of about 500 people. Hinton, a current Micro commissioner, beat Jimmy Lee, 59, a former commissioner, for the post.

Johnny Dixon, Kenneth Holland and incumbent Laura Grady won seats on the town's Board of Commissioners.

Eugene Hinton, mayor: 70 percent

Johnny Dixon, commissioner: 66 votes

Laura Grady, commissioner: 59 votes

Kenneth Holland, commissioner: 45 votes

WILSON'S MILLS: Phillip Wright, a current council member, beat Fleta Byrd, the town planning director, to become the next mayor of Wilson's Mills.

Joe Parrish, Kenneth R. Jones and current mayor Peter Wilson edged out Joseph Wilder Jr. and incumbent Clifton Cooley Sr. to win seats on the council.

Phillip Wright, mayor: 53 percent

Peter Wilson, council: 102 votes

Joe Parrish, council: 102 votes

Kenneth R. Jones, council: 80 votes
