The results are now official, but the winners in last week's election remain the same.

The Johnston County Board of Elections counted provisional ballots on Tuesday, but those votes weren't enough to impact close elections in Wilson's Mills and Princeton.

John McLean won the write-in contest for Whitley Heights Sanitary District Commissioner.

As of Tuesday, no candidates had filed an official complaint about the election. They have until Friday to do so. One candidate, incumbent Wilson's Mills councilman Clifton Cooley, indicated last week that he might challenge the results because of confusion surrounding the location of the town's polling place. Cooley could not be reached for comment.
