Turkey shoots

Turkey shoots for men, women and children are scheduled from 7 till 8:30 p.m. Nov. 13-14 at Clyde's Chapel Baptist Church, 16657 Buffalo Road, Wendell. The cost is $5 per shot. Other shoots will take place Nov. 20-21, Nov. 27-28 and Dec. 4-5. The church is at the corner of Turnipseed and Buffalo roads. Plates of barbecued pork will be on sale from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1241 Old Fairground Round, Willow Spring. The cost is $7 per plate and includes half a chicken, green beans, boiled potatoes, rolls and dessert. Takeout will be available.

Pisgah Baptist

Plates of barbecued pork and chicken will be on sale from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Pisgah Baptist Church, 3689 N.C. 210, Smithfield. The cost is $7 per plate, with proceeds going to the church's Helping Hands and benevolence ministries.

Fall sale

Ebenezer Presbyterian Church will hold its fall harvest sale on Saturday, Nov. 21. Plates of barbecued pork and chicken will be on sale from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. Crafts and baked goods will also be available. At the end of the day, the church will raffle a quilt. Tickets are $1, with proceeds going to mission programs. The church is at the intersection of Ebenezer Church Road and Bailey's Crossroads between Benson and Coats. Harvest day

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church will hold its 60th annual Harvest Day on Saturday, Nov. 21. Plates of barbecued pork and chicken will be on sale from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. The event also includes a bazaar, an auction and a quilt raffle. Elizabeth UMC

Turkey shoots are scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 14 and 21 at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 4269 Cleveland Road between Smithfield and the Cleveland community. The cost is $4 per shot, or six shots for $20. The women of the church will sell refreshments.

Anniversary singing

Glorybound Way, a quartet, will celebrate its anniversary at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Friendship Baptist Church near McGee's Crossroads. A soup and sandwich supper is scheduled from 6 till 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at New Zealand Primitive Free Will Baptist Church on Meadowbrook Road in the Meadow community. The cost is $6, with takeout available.

Women's retreat

"In Pursuit of God," a retreat for women, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Bethesda Baptist Church, 4967 U.S. 70 Business West, Clayton. Soup outreach

The Calvary Clayton Fellowship will hold a soup outreach at 421 E. 2nd St., Clayton. Hours are 6 till 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, and 8 a.m. till noon Saturday, Nov. 21. The church will serve homemade chicken soup and give away blankets, coats, hats and gloves.
