Spaghetti supper

A spaghetti supper is scheduled from 5:30 till 7:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 25) at Unity Presbyterian Church, 11551 N.C. 50 South, Newton Grove. The fifth annual Christmas tree, wreath and garland sale is under way at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Smithfield. Karen Ench, church secretary, is taking orders for Fraser fir Christmas trees, mixed-green wreaths and white-pine garlands. Delivery will be from 2:30 till 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at the church, 218 S. 2nd St. The trees are 3 to 11 feet in height and cost $9 a foot. The wreaths are 12 to 42 inches in diameter. Thanksgiving service

A community Thanksgiving service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Four Oaks United Methodist Church, 302 N. Church St., Four Oaks. George Hamilton IV will sing and speak. Over the years, he performed with such artists as Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, the Everly Brothers and Chet Atkins. Admission is free; the church will collect an offering.
