Spring Youth Soccer

Spring soccer registration with the Selma Parks Dept. is open now through Feb. 19. Leagues are planned for ages 4-14 (ages as of Aug. 1). The program focuses on individual skill development. Practices for the season will begin in early March with games following and continuing through late April. The fee is $25 for Town of Selma residents or $30 for non-residents.

Spring Softball

Softball registration with the Selma Parks Dept. is also open for ages 7-17 (as of Jan. 1) now through March 12. Practices begin in late March and games will follow through the end of June. The fee is $25 for Town of Selma residents or $30 for non-residents.

T-Ball Registration

T-Ball for ages 4-6 (as of May 10) with the Selma Parks Dept. is now open for registration. Practices begin in April with games through the end of June. The fee is $25 for Town of Selma residents and $30 for non-residents.

Coach-Pitch Baseball

Coach-pitch baseball registration with the Selma Parks Dept. is open now through March 12. Ages are 7-8 (as of May 1). Practices begin in April with games through the end of June. The fee is $25 for Town of Selma residents and $30 for non-resident.

Youth Baseball

Youth baseball for ages 9-17 (as of May 1) is available through the Selma Parks Dept. Sign-ups will end March 12. The fee is $40 for Town of Selma residents or $50 for non-residents.

Challenger Sports Soccer Camp

The Selma Parks Dept. will team up with Challenger Sports for a summer soccer camp June 21-25 for ages 6-16. The camp will hold a session for ages 6-10 (from 9 till noon and one for ages 11-16 (1-5 p.m.). The cost is $103 per camper and includes a soccer ball. A host family is needed for the instructor and that family will receive an $80 credit toward their camp fee. Register online at www.challengersports.com by May 7 and receive a free soccer jersey.

March Madness Cornhole Classic

A cornhole tournament will be held on March 6. The event, sponsored by the Selma Parks Dept., is open to anyone but all competitors must throw from the 30-foot line. The cost is $25 per team. The champion and runner-up teams will receive trophies; all other participants will receive a T-shirt. Sign-ups end Feb. 22.

Smithfield Cornhole Tournament

The inaugural Smithfield Cornhole Tournament will be held Feb. 6 at the SRAC. The one-day tournament will have men's women's and co-ed divisions. Registration is $30 per team. Sign-ups close on Feb. 4.

Aquatics and Fitness Programs

Bridge Club

The area club meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Smithfield Operations Center. Drop-ins are welcome. Winners for the Jan. 26 session were Barbara King and Patricia Stallings (59.26 percent), Alfred Taylor and Perry Boone (58.33), Nancy Randolph and Lucille Markle (54.17) and Kenneth Lensing and La Vee Bailey (52.78).
