Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Industries Inc. recently made a significant gift to the Johnston Community College Foundation in support of business and industry training.

Steve Dawson, director of people and organization at Novo Nordisk, said the donation will help train future workers to compete in the global marketplace. "We are proud to contribute to the JCC Foundation in order to support students in our community with funding for tuition and other community college needs," he said. "Novo Nordisk continues to enjoy a great relationship with JCC to prepare our employees and the citizens of Johnston County for the jobs of the future."

JCC President David Johnson thanked Novo Nordisk for its continued support of workforce-development training at the college. "JCC and Novo Nordisk have enjoyed a longstanding corporate partnership, and we are extremely grateful for their continued support of business and industry training at our institution," Johnson said.

In Clayton, Novo Nordisk produces insulin and assembles and packages the FlexPen disposable insulin device for the United States market.
