Clayton market seeks vendors

Eye of the Eagle Art in downtown Clayton is seeking artists, craftsmen and vendors for in the "1st Street Christmas Market." The holiday market will open Dec. 1 and close Dec. 24. Pumpkin painting

A pumpkin-painting festival is scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the home of Mr. and Mrs George Lee, 2241 Shotwell Road, Clayton.

Posters on display

"Rise of the American Gig Poster," a display of posters promoting music gigs, is the newest exhibit at the Frank Creech Art Gallery at Johnston Community College, 245 College Road, Smithfield. Through Oct. 26, the exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Admission is free.
