The Benson Little Theatre will present a salute to "Hee Haw" this weekend. Shows are at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in the W.J. Barefoot Auditorium, 303 E. Church St., Benson. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Group tickets are available for $8. Auditions for "Pippin," a Clayton Youth Theater production, are scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 13 and 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at The Clayton Center, 111 E. 2nd St., Clayton. Auditions are open to students in grades 7-12; however, the show will cast one boy age 5-10. Students should prepare a song; a pianist will be available, or bring a CD. Rehearsals will begin Nov. 30.
Darkside Haunted Estates has opened at 11875 N.C. 222 West, Middlesex. Here's the remaining schedule: Oct. 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31. Hours are 7 till 10 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $12 for children 12 and younger. A "Low Scare Night" for kids is scheduled from 7 till 9 p.m. Oct. 29. E Train Manning and the East Coast Blues Armada will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Orchard House Booksellers, 117 N. 3rd St., Smithfield. Orchard House offers open mic from 6 till 8 p.m. Tuesdays and from noon till 3 p.m. Saturdays.
