Barbour's Chapel
Heaven's Way, a gospel music group, will sing at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Barbour's Chapel Advent Christian Church, 164 Barbour's Chapel Road, Four Oaks. The church is one mile south of Four Oaks off of Black Creek Road.
Plate sale Friday
A plate sale will get under way at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, at First Missionary Baptist Church at the corner of Fourth and Caswell streets in Smithfield. The cost is $6 for fish or chicken, $7 for pork ribs or $8.50 for a combination plate. Proceeds will go to the Central Children's Home in Oxford.
Pastor’s anniversary
Bishop Larry Lewis is celebrating his anniversary as pastor of Tabernacle of the Congregation, 430 Martin Luther King Drive, Smithfield. Barbecued chicken
Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 10:30 a.m. till 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Jubilee Church, 951 Booker Dairy Road, Smithfield. VBS at Stones Creek
Stones Creek Advent Christian Church will hold Vacation Bible School July 27-31. On Sunday, the day will begin at 3 p m. with games and activities for children. A hot dog supper will follow at 5, and classes will begin at 6. Starting Monday and ending Wednesday, the church will serve supper at 6:30 p.m.; classes will run from 7 till 9.
