Johnston Community College's radiography program has received an eight-year accreditation, the maximum awarded by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
The certification is the result of the committee's visit last February to review the college's radiography program.
Program director Ann Jackson said the distinction was possible because of the teamwork of the college, students and, especially, the radiography faculty.
"Without the teamwork of everyone from the program, the support of our students and graduates, colleagues at the college and college administration, as well as our clinical affiliates, this would not have been possible," Jackson said.
"Everyone played a vital role in making this happen."
