Smithfield - U.S. Sen. Richard Burr visited Johnston County residents and officials Wednesday afternoon.

The Greater Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce hosted the special luncheon at Johnston Medical Mall. Burr has become an advocate for healthcare issues, men and woman in the military and the growing population of veterans across the state. He addressed those topics, as well as the upcoming presidential election, to the Johnston crowd.
