The Herald is starting a new feature on this site. Two Johnston County mothers will write columns about children and family life. A new column will be posted to the site every other week, beginning today (March 12).

The writers are Barbie Tew and Sandra Fusaro.

Tew lives in Clayton with her husband, Joel, and two sons, Gabriel, 7, and Jackson, 5. She is the president and founder of Mothers Unlimited, a network of support groups for moms with more than 400 members. She founded Mothers Unlimited “to allow me a career that would give me the freedom to be home with my children and create a family of friends for my family,” she says.

Fusaro is a Clayton wife and mother. Her 5-year-old son, Luke, loves books, music, coloring, and is always on the move. She has a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and works for a nonprofit research organization as a field interviewer. Fusaro also teaches a stress management class at Johnston Community College.
