Malane Yates Johnson, 69, of Spring Lake died Sunday, June 28, at his home.

Born Nov. 14, 1939, in Johnston County, Mr. Johnson was a son of the late Perry Jackson and Stella Parrish Johnson. He was a member of the American Federation of Government Employees.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Minshew Funeral Home, 5820 U.S. 301 South, Four Oaks. The Rev. Dustin Creech will officiate. Burial will follow in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.

Surviving are his wife, Marica Byrd Johnson; three daughters, Donna Silva and Sharon Merati, both of California, and Stella Renee Hetrick of Michigan; two sisters, Mary McDonald Jackson of Newton Grove and Shelby Baker of Four Oaks; three brothers, J.C. Johnson of Dagget, Calif., and Joseph M. “Shorty” Johnson and George Johnson, both of Smithfield; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 till 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
