Melvin Thadis Howell, 87, of Old Highway 22, Kenly, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, at his home.
Born Oct. 27, 1921, Mr. Howell was the son of the late Fritz and Kate Howell. He was the widower of Pauline Boyette Howell.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in Kenly Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Thompson officiated.
Surviving are his son, Michael Wayne Howell; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
