Annie Louise Wooten, 91, of Newton Grove died Monday, Sept. 28.

Mrs. Wooten was a daughter of the late Leroy Walton and Annie Jane Denning Strickland. She was the widow of James McKinnon Wooten.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Roanoke Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. The Revs. Willard Hardison and Barris Lanier officiated. Burial followed in the cemetery at Shady Grove Church in Newton Grove.

Surviving are three daughters, Faith Nethercutt of Hookerton, Jane Parker of Selma and Beverly Carruth of Kinston; six sons, Jimmy Wooten of Clayton, Dean Wooten, Wallace Wooten and Kent Wooten, all of Newton Grove, Thomas Wooten of Hixson, Tenn., and Ricky Wooten of Dunn; two sisters, Flossie Mae Bass of Jacksonville and Doris Tew of Dunn; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
