James Cleveland Royal, 77, of Smithfield died Thursday, Oct. 1.
The funeral was at noon Friday, Oct. 9, at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. The Rev. Gaddis Barnes officiated. Entombment followed in the mausoleum in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton.
Surviving are his sons, William Britt of Flint, Mich., and Decarius Royal; a daughter, Beyunka Davis of Fayetteville; a brother, Willie Earl Royal of Smithfield; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
