William Joseph “Bill” Barber, 65, of Princeton died Monday, Oct. 12,
at his home.Born Dec. 2, 1943, in Johnston County, Mr. Barber was a son of the
late Charlie and Cassie Starling Barber. He was a retired framing
contractor. Mr. Barber was a member of the board of trustees of
Fellowship United Methodist Church.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Parrish Funeral
Home, 1351 S. Pollock St., Selma. The Rev. Ralph Hill will officiate.
Burial will follow in the cemetery at Fellowship Church.Surviving are his wife, Brenda Phillips Barber; a son, Dr. Joseph
Barber of Princeton; a daughter, Crystal Barber of Kenly; a stepson,
Tommy Woodard of Kenly; two stepdaughters, Cindy Woodard Capritta of
Princeton and Susan Woodard Marshburn of Clayton; brother, a Paul
Barber of Neunan, Ga.; three sisters, Phoebe Young of Swansboro, Betty
Lou Outlaw of Princeton and Eleanor Medlin of Kenly; and six
grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 7 till 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14,
at the funeral home.The family suggests memorial contributions to the ALS Association, Jim
