James Everette "Jim" Stephenson, 59, of 126 Lakeside Circle, Willow Spring, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, after a 2-1/2-year battle with cancer.

Born in Wake County, Mr. Stephenson was the owner and operator of Crossroads Lawn Care. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner.

Surviving are his wife, Ann Stephenson; a daughter, Leslie Hawley of Benson; his parents, Simon and Vivian Stephenson of Willow Spring; two sisters, Gloria Dupree and Cecelia Bullard, all of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and a grandson.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Attention: Suzanne Crestwell, 401 Harrison Oaks Blvd., Suite 200, Cary, N.C. 27513.
