Annie S. Turnage, 84, of 140 Godwin Lake Road, Benson, died Saturday, Oct. 17, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitaton Center in Benson.

Born Aug. 8, 1925, in Johnston County, Mrs. Turnage was the daughter of the late George Robert and Ophelia Johnson Strickland. She was the widow of Sherrill Turnage. Mrs. Turnage was a homemaker and a member of New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral was at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The Revs. Herbert Johnson and Jeff Hayes officiated. Burial followed in the cemetery at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church.

Surviving are three sons, Earl Ray Turnage of Benson, Gerald Raeford Turnage of Bluffton, S.C., and S. DeLeon Turnage of Zebulon; a sister, Sally S. Johnson of Four Oaks; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
