Robert Lee O’Neal, 46, of 9434 Applewhite Road, Wendell, died Tuesday, June 17, at WakeMed in Raleigh. He was surrounded by family.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Baptist Tabernacle Church. Burial will follow in the Richardson Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Scarlette Harris O’Neal; two children, Justin O’Neal and Sarah O’Neal, both of the home; his parents, Robert A. “Bobby” and Jean R. O’Neal of Wendell; three sisters, Pam Batten of Burgaw, Sharon Hocutt of Wendell and Amy Poole Butler of Raleigh; and his maternal grandfather, John Robert “Papa” Richardson of Wendell.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 till 8:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 18) at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell; and other times at the home.
