Elsie Byrd West, 87, of 13613 N.C. 210, Angier, died Friday, July 18, at Johnston Medical Center of Smithfield.

Born Dec. 25, 1920, in Johnston County, Mrs. West was a daughter of the late Ira and Zilla Barbour Byrd. She was the widow of Johnny Berry West.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, 301 W. Main St., Benson. The Rev. Junior Little and Brother Mac Fowler will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery at Red Hill Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Elaine Capps of Smithfield and Louise McLamb of Angier; two sons, Bobby West of Maryland and Johnny West of Chimney Rock; two daughters, Ruby Capps and Martha Capps, both of Smithfield; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the funeral home.
